So off to Marrakesh i jet. My bag is all packed and sitting neatly under my desk… taxi to the airport booked..gripping novel for the journey – a soul searching love story about a new york widow.. engaging stuff and i am only at chapter 2.

I love flying more than anything else in the world.. i think because when i was little it provided such an extreme of emotions.. it was either to fly home from boarding school for the holidays and i would literally count down the days to see my family, dogs and friends. And obviously get the complete reverse effect when flying back to the UK…. back to drizzle, grey days and prep time!

now-a-days flights to me are only a good thing! i am either working somewhere that has to be less boring than London 9-5 five days a week or it means HOLIDAY!! and this weekend, my friends (all 5 of you) means a grand 4 days off! Cinnamon city here i come!

I cant wait to walk through the souks on my 2nd day, the first being spent getting the much needed based tan, obvi. So i am going back to my usual haunt Riad El Fenn.. where i have stayed religious since i was introduced to the hidden gem a year or so ago. I love it… it is just inside the Medina – amongst the hussel and bussel but as soon as you step in through those ancient gigantic doors … silence. You can get lost in it … i always manage to find the pool and hammam though! oh and occasionally the bar – with some of the sweetest barmen in the land!

i might even sign up for one of their new organic cooking lessons whilst i am there! Never too soon to learn those nesting skills!

A nice little stop off at Cafe La Poste for lunch on sunday and I have just booked supper at the Fondouk! MY FAVOURITE!!
